WATER CUSTODY TRANSFER METERING SYSTEMS
A water custody transfer metering system is used for automated measurement of water injected into a well at an oil field to maintain reservoir pressure, and water used for auxiliary purposes.
Description
MAIN FUNCTIONS OF CUSTODY TRANSFER METERING SYSTEMS FOR WATER:
A water custody transfer metering system measures a flow rate and monitors water pressure and temperature parameters, with their subsequent transmission to the information processing system. The number and diameter of metering lines is defined through a calculation depending on the maximum flow rate and the type of used flow transmitters.
TYPICAL COMPOSITION OF A CUSTODY TRANSFER METERING SYSTEMS FOR WATER:
- Inlet and outlet header;
- Piping with block valves;
- Flow transmitters (turbine, ultrasonic, vortex type);
- Pressure and temperature transmitters;
- Pressure and temperature gauges;
- Pressure and flow controllers;
- Information processing system;
- Power distribution systems;
- Automated operator’s workstation.
A water custody transfer metering system is installed in modular containers or in open areas, with separate parts (flow transmitters, temperature and pressure transmitters) being put in heated cabinets or thermowells.
