The field characteristic.

Transshipment complex «Sheskharis» is one of the largest oil-loading complexes for oil and oil products transshipment in southern Russia. The facility is designed to receive, store and ship oil and petroleum products for export, as well as oil supplies to the Krasnodar Territory plants. Up to date, the transshipment complex is located on 258 hectares and has two production sites: «Sheskharis» and «Grushovaya».

Project description and set of works.

Scope of automation of Grushovaya production site located on an area of 213 hectares covers the following main objects:

• commodity tanks in the amount of 47 pcs. with total volume of 1249 million m³;
• process pipelines with total length of 70 km;
• railway racks in quantity of 3 pcs.

Proceeding from large number of renovated facilities, three independent microprocessor automation systems of Grushovaya site were allocated for automation and telemetry. Total data capacity has made 6800 physical layer signals.

Scope of automation of «Sheskharis» industrial site includes:

• the southern portal of technological tunnels connecting «Grushovaya» and «Sheskharis» industrial sites;
• commodity tanks in the amount of 12 pcs. with total volume of 119 thousand m³;
• process pipelines with total length of 19.3 km.

Two independent microprocessor automation systems of «Sheskharis» industrial site were alloted, total data capacity of «Sheskharis» industrial site was 4100 physical layer signals.

Project features.

In order to optimize reception, storage, shipment and further transportation of oil products through port of Novorossiysk, oil and oil products routing system was provided, which ensures verification of readiness of transportation routes and monitoring of the equipment involved in oil products loading.

Pressure and flow control system is applied for delivery of oil products to marine terminals through pipelines with specified accuracy and protection against exceeding pressure on «Sheskharis» industrial site.

Due to increased seismic and tectonic activity in mountainous areas of «Grushovaya» and «Sheskakhris» industrial sites, vertical slope control system for vertical steel tanks was introduced. The system automatically controls inclination of tanks and provides a signal to the operator's workplace if tilt angle is exceeded by 50 from the vertical line.
