OIL TREATMENT PACKAGE FOR TAZOVSKY OIL, GAS AND GAS CONDENSATE FIELD OF LLC GAZPROMNEFT-YAMAL

Facility characteristics

Tazovsky oil, gas and gas condensate field is located in Tazovsky area of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous district, 525 km to the north-east of Salekhard.

LLC Gazpromneft-Development develops an oil rim under the project. Taking into account geological conditions, a solution for simultaneous oil and gas production was executed.

In 2019 LLC Gazpromneft-Development started a full-scale construction at the Tazovsky field. Operations and commercial development of the field started in 2020. The peak of production is predicted for 2021 and will amount to about 2.1 million tonnes of oil.

In terms of complexity and uniqueness, high-technology wells of the Tazovsky oil, gas and gas condensate field are considered equivalent to the offshore ones. The viscosity of oil at the field can amount to 1,700 cS.

Project description

One of the main units in the development of the Tazovsky oil, gas and gas condensate field is an oil treatment package manufactured by JSC Nefteavtomatika.

The following was performed during the project:

  • Development of vendor documentation;
  • Manufacture of oil treatment packages, prefabricated as much as possible, with a controlled assembly on the site of the manufacturer;
  • Supply of equipment to the Tazovsky oil, gas and gas condensate field.

The following is planned to be performed in 2020:

  • Erection supervision for the oil treatment package equipment;;
  • Commissioning activities for the oil treatment package.

Technical characteristics of the oil treatment package at the Tazovsky oil, gas and gas condensate field

  • Oil capacity – up to 2.2 million t/year;
  • Liquid capacity – up to 6 million t/year;
  • GOR – not more than 10 nm³/t.

Stabilized oil downstream of the oil treatment package will flow to the tank farm of the field.

Advantages of the oil treatment package

  • Equipment package can be extended to increase capacity;
  • Spare connections for additional process modules are possible;
  • A unit control system is available to set up and control process conditions, as well as to maintain the unit operation in an automatic mode.

Scope of supply

  • Separators (oil and gas separators with water knock-out) used as an input separation stage (dehydration stage);
  • Heat exchangers (4 pcs.) used for treated oil heat recovery and heating of fresh water;
  • Fired heaters (PTB-5) and utilities used to heat liquid upstream of deep dehydration to the temperature of 80 °С;
  • Three-phase separators C-2 and C-3 used as a stage of preliminary dehydration;
  • Desalters used as a stage of electric dehydration;
  • Last-stage separators used to treat oil to reach the required values of saturated vapor pressure (not more than 500 mm Hg);
  • Knock-out drum with a condensate pump station used to receive gas discharges from process equipment and burn gases at the flare;
  • Water treatment;
  • Drain drums;
  • Central utilities;
  • Packaged transformer substation with an MCC room, electric tracing and air pressurization switchgear room;
  • Local automation.

An automated control system of the oil treatment unit ensures full automation of the process, continuous monitoring of the main process equipment operation, high level of safety and information output to the higher level.

Project peculiarities

  • A modular principle was used to manufacture the oil treatment package, which made it possible to have more space-saving and tight installation of pipelines and cables within the battery limits of process units and interconnecting racks, to make the equipment more ergonomic and less metal-consuming.
  • Typical design solutions for oil field packages were used during the development of vendor documentation, which made it possible to save production and time resources for its preparation in a noticeable way. The use of 3D models accelerated the activities for the adjustment and adaptation of vendor documentation of a typical project to the exact conditions of the Tazovsky oil, gas and gas condensate field.
  • A controlled assembly of the main oil treatment package parts was executed at the production base of the manufacturer in Serafimovka, Republic of Bashkortostan. An open area with hard crushed stone macadam, with a surface of 6,000 m², was prepared for this.
  • The equipment, process piping and interconnecting utilities were manufactured inside production shops.

The equipment was shipped and supplied in packages and large-scale assemblies, prefabricated as much as possible.
